From “Players’ Coach” to “Clients’ Builder”
Daniel Hunter’s passion for building began in 2004, when Hurricane Katrina destroyed his parents' home in Biloxi, Mississippi.
“My father and I spent six months tearing their home down to the studs and rebuilding it entirely.”
After helping rebuild their home, Daniel pursued a career in Teaching and Coaching, including time at Texas A&M and high schools like Westlake, Westwood, and Anderson, where he served as Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator. But even during coaching seasons, his heart stayed in construction.
“Building is how I supported my expensive habit of Coaching.”
By 2020, Daniel made the leap—leaving coaching to build homes full-time. After years of learning the ropes under Clint Small of Clint Small Custom Homes, where he was Named Project Manager of the Year, he launched TAC Homes, which stands for The Art of Construction.
Known for being a “players’ coach” on the field, Daniel brought that same philosophy to home building: clear communication, teamwork, and commitment to a process of excellence.
“I always believed there was a science and art to coaching. I have the same approach to building homes. We have mastered the science—but what separates TAC is The Art of Construction.”
Now, instead of trusting him with their kids, Central Texas families trust “Coach” with their homes—and the results speak for themselves.
